Hello Barracudas,

Spring is right around the corner; we just need to survive one final snowfall today! The NVSL Seeding Meeting took place yesterday, which means summer swim planning is officially underway. We are ready for warmer temperatures, longer days, and seeing everyone back on deck very soon.

This annual meeting brings together the NVSL Executive Board, committee chairs, division coordinators, and team representatives from all 102 teams across the league. During the meeting we learned our division placement, competitors, and finalized the 2026 meet schedule.

Registration & Tryouts

Swim Team Registration:
April 1 – June 10, 2026 ($50 late fee added after June 1)

Indoor Tryouts:

Sponsorships

As we plan for the 2026 Hollin Meadows Barracudas Summer Swim Team season, we are once again seeking support from neighborhood businesses, families, and community members to help offset yearly team expenses and activities.

Thanks to last year’s generous sponsors, we were able to purchase a new record board, team tents, and additional equipment that directly benefits our swimmers.

With over 160 swimmers, more than 400 club families, and thousands of NVSL participants, sponsorship provides meaningful community exposure while supporting Barracudas traditions and operations.

⭐ New this year: Sponsors now have two ways to contribute:

• Mail a check using the sponsorship form
• Sponsor online through our new electronic processing option on the website

NVSL Officials — We Need Your Help to Run Meets

Many of our longtime officials have swimmers graduating, which means we need new parents stepping in now.

Simply put: we cannot host A Meets or B Meets without enough certified officials.

Becoming an official is one of the best ways to support the team while still having a front-row seat to watch your swimmer compete. No experience is required, and veteran officials will help you learn.

Important 2026 Update:
All NVSL clinics will be held in person this year. There are no virtual recertification options.

Volunteer Roles Still Needed

Our team runs entirely on volunteers, and at this point your Team Reps cannot continue covering multiple operational roles in addition to managing the season. If these positions are not filled soon, we will need to evaluate scaling back or eliminating some team events.

Please consider helping in one of the following roles:

Concessions Manager
Coordinates food purchasing and concessions sales at home meets. Michelle Tranquilli will help ensure a smooth transition.

Officials Coordinator
Builds the season officials schedule in coordination with Team Reps.

Social Chair
Leads a small committee to organize team traditions:

• Welcome Back Potluck
• Donut Tuesdays
• Pep Rallies
• End-of-Season Team Breakfast

B Meet Set-Up Manager
Arrives at 4:00 pm on B Meet days to coordinate deck setup and volunteers.
