Barracuda Weekly News: July 5 - 11
Hi Barracuda Families,
We hope everyone has had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend with family and friends! It's hard to believe, but we are already halfway through the season, which means LOTS of information from your Team Reps—especially this week with Team Picture Day, Relay Carnival, and Tween Night all happening in the same week!
Before we jump into this week's updates, we wanted to thank everyone who joined us for Bowling Night. We had a great turnout and it was so much fun spending time with our Barracuda families outside of the pool. Between the friendly competition, lots of laughs, and seeing swimmers, parents, coaches, and siblings all together, it was a great reminder that our swim team is about much more than just swimming. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make it such a fun evening!
Meet Recap
Yesterday's meet against Mansion House was certainly a HOT one, and we know it wasn't easy on anyone given the temperatures. We are incredibly grateful to all of our volunteers who helped run a fast, efficient meet and to all of our swimmers who gave it their all. We especially LOVED seeing everyone decked out in their RED, White, and Blue.
The Barracudas earned their second win of the season with a final score of 224–196!
As a reminder, all A Meet results can be found on the NVSL website.

What is Relay Carnival?
Relay Carnival is a scored, division-wide evening meet where our fastest swimmers compete together in relay teams against the other five Division 9 teams. Relay teams that perform exceptionally well may qualify for NVSL All-Star Relays later in the season.
Meet Theme: Food & Beverage
Sweet, savory, or sippable—dress as your favorite food or drink! Get creative and have fun with it.
Relay Entries
Relay entries will be sent later this evening. The holiday weekend has us running a little behind.
If your swimmer is selected and is no longer available, please notify us immediately.
Please remember that relay entries may change after Monday night's B Meet if swimmers post faster times than currently entered swimmers. Final relay entries and additional meet information will be sent on Tuesday.
Thursday, July 9 – Tween Night
We're excited to host a Tween Night for our 11–14-year-old Barracudas!
This will be a fun, casual evening where swimmers can spend time with teammates and coaches outside the pool—playing games, eating pizza, laughing, and making memories together.
Time: 6:00–8:00 PM
Location: Tranquilli House – 7607 Range Road, Alexandria, VA
To help make the night a success, families are invited to make a voluntary contribution of $15 per swimmer to help cover pizza, drinks, and snacks for both swimmers and coaches.

Have a favorite lawn game? We'd love to borrow it! Cornhole, KanJam, Spikeball, Ladder Toss, and similar games are all welcome.

Meet Theme: Senior Prom
In honor of our seniors, Four and Rachel, it's Prom Night at the Pool! Channel your inner "Suit & Tie"—think dresses, suits, ties, tuxedo t-shirts, thrift-store finds, or anything else creative. Let's celebrate our seniors and make this final home meet one to remember.
For our final home meet, we have a special treat following the meet. Lisenby's will be selling smashburgers after the meet. Help us clean up the pool and then stay for lunch with your teammates. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.
